The SA flag has the Piping Shrike on it. Any South Aussie worth his salt knows that. Don't get all uppity because NSW just stuck the English flag on the Aussie flag for their "State" flag! :P :D

Excuse me but we surrender with a white dove stapled to a wooden pole!

P.S. I'm glad Adam mentioned it was a shrike as my first thought was it was a magpie...

But then i'd take a flag with a dung beetle over one with the English flag on it!!

Um, technically, it is a magpie. The piping shrike is the magpie you see flying around all over the place Ev. I think Flinders, or some other early explorer, named it the Piping Shrike, when they first encountered it here (it is different from the European magpie). There was some confusion regarding the nomenclature over the years (some people thinking it actually refers to the smaller "Murray Magpie"), but the Piping Shrike and the magpie are one and the same bird.

Bloody Poms stuffing the wildlife up again... I remember Billy Connelly once said they sent a wombat back to England, and it has been stuffed (apparently still in the museum) to stand on it's hind legs like a Grizzly...

But then again, when they got sent a platypus they thought they were having a laugh...

NSW should recognise the QLD flag; it's long since been welded onto the Harbour Bridge ;)
