Birdman, I'm not sure what your point is. You think they should have more?
Only "made an effort"??? :o :'(

I had delightfully converted players all modeled to make ease of positional identification easy for my opponent, and also painted, washed, plus base ringed and sand coated + painted the bases! :o

I was well chuffed with my lads... only issue is needing more plakky BB16 Humans to convert up more Linos, as the games I lost were through attrition more so then anything else... probably a bit more work on them to call em fully done but that was pretty much 12hrs -> full day of hobby! That was top flight effort for me! :P :)

I had .... blah blah blah
I'll admit, I didn't take a close look at them and so I didn't notice how much effort you made. I've just got a large dislike of people using miniatures that are so strongly associated with a different race to what they're using them as. When you've played a stack of games against something that is always used as a Human Blitzer, it's really easy to think of it as such in the middle of a game.

As in a Breton Human? :P

Hard to be too clever when they are just another bunch of humans after all...

They all had giant Knight Helmets on and were carrying a ball each. Pretty clear they weren't filthy Imperials... also interesting to note that the stats were pretty much the same as what they looked like (Knights/Blitzers 7338, Yeoman/ Lineman 6338)... only the Linemen (Peasants) whom I converted out of less armoured prancing catchers and throwers were different...

I also personally really dislike the full blown "Full Plate Just Dismounted from Horsey" look on a lot of Bretonian (Human ;) ) teams... Good luck moving 7 and getting AG skills in that get up!

We're probably at opposite ends of the spectrum in what we like. I can't stand all the Blood Bowl teams that look like they're wearing sports uniforms. I like the straight-from-the-battlefield look.

In any case, getting way off-topic. The races taken really highlight why I like Goldcrush. People jump at the chance to play a race that is usually so far behind the main pack.

I reckon we let Birdman win this year so Dwarfs can have one less skill next year.

Run and won, congrats to Kyle (Khemri), ...and Liam(Chaos) and James(Vamps). We are very appreciative of everyone that makes the hike up to the 'Rat. Again, a great comp and the lists were interesting and exiting as always - even the ones that were costed correctly!

Popey and I are always happy for feedback on the event so we can improve next year - prizes, ruleset, Eureka award, cupcakes, etc. Please let us know.

Thanks again to all participants.

2 wins and 2 losses with the comparatively hobbled (in this ruleset) Dwarves, so I'm not sure that I've proven much of anything. Blodge, KOR and +MA on the Runner was pure gold, absolutely no regrets there, he was a ball-fetching, cage-hopping, sprinting machine. If I was to take them again, I'd be dropping the "interesting" skills like Strip Ball and Juggernaut, and going all-in boring Guard Spam on the 6 Blockers.

So yeah, I guess Dwarves need to stay hobbled? :-\

In any case, to echo the above - many thanks to Jonno for organising, and to all my opponents for the entertaining games. My last game in particular was a nail-biter, came down to the very last turn, so apologies and thanks to all for your patience in allowing Mark and I to play it out past the official buzzer!

Undefeated with Vamps (even if I got a default win)! I had an amazing 4 games and felt like everyone game went down to the wire. Thanks Jonno for putting on a good spread, any tournament where Khemri, Chaos and Vamps are on the podium is a good format!

I think I say this almost every year: people don't take enough Guard to Goldcrush. Kyle did, though.

On this topic, I feel a lot of people are far too polite to comment.

While I appreciate the apology, you really only have the TO to thank since the rest of us had no say in the matter (and I reckon there were at least a half dozen players who would have called time on your game if they were in charge).

Jonno, this was a poor decision. Time was called, the game should have been called. A number of people had long drives home and sitting around for an extra 20-30 mins was not appreciated.

Fair comment Steve, and I would have held no ill-will to Jonno or anyone else had we been called. I definitely take too long to play sometimes, and a called draw when I could have had the win would have been a sharp and poignant experience for me to learn from.

Again, apologies to all, and in future, I'll make a point of calling time myself (assuming my opponent is also in agreement) in a tournament setting if the TO is being too nice.

Ok, my 2 cents as TO. I believe in the end that you were only 10 mins over time of 2hr15mins. Most coaches finished earlier because we managed to start R4 16 mins early. Your game was tooth and nail, which is why I let it go, as well as noting that we were ahead of when we were meant to conclude. We were on track for our stated finishing time, and I did raise the issue with several other coaches who intimated that I should allow you to play on. Depending on further feedback, I may change my decision if in a similar position in the future, but even though everyone likes an early start home, I am not convinced that this was a 'poor decision'...yet.

I believe it was more like 25-30 mins given the round started with 15 mins still left on the clock from the previous round.

So aside from game timing - which we will certainly look at next year - and to make sure the round seeding and overall tie breakers match, what else?
Can I please get some specific feedback on:
