Still the best ruleset out there for me.

Cards:
Love 'em. I need to be more vigilant in reading them though, made a fairly understandably error with how two interacted (Lucky Charm vs Blatant Foul). I have no problem in keeping them or switching to some of the new decks, but I think the old decks are better.

Prizes:
Looks like you reduced the value of the top vouchers, but increased the amount of them on offer. I don't think that's necessarily good or bad. There's a lot of non-BB prizes on the table which reduces my interest in them, but the value of prizes seemed about right.

Tiers:
Khorne should not be in a tier lower than Chaos - as the tiers stand, there's no room to give them more skills than Chaos (though they need it) so they should be equal. I think Bretonnians have too many skills, but you can look at how they do over the year in other NAF events to make a decision. It's still early days, but they are doing pretty well so far (56.68% win rate). I think it's time to stop penalising the Dwarfs so much, pop them up to 8.
For reference, here's the Skill Points breakdown over the last few years (* denotes winner):

Code: Select all

Year '14 '15 '16 '17 '18
------------------------------
Dwarf 5 5 6 6 6
Amazon 8 8 9 9 9
Chaos Dwarf 8 8 9 9 9
Skaven 8 8* 9 9 9
Undead 8 8 9 9 9
Wood Elf 8 8 9 9 9
Dark Elf 10 10 9 9 9
Necromantic 10 10 11* 9 10
Orc 10 10 11 11 10
High Elf 10 10 11 11 11
Human 10 10 11 11 11
Lizardman 10 10 11 11 11
Norse 10 10 11 11 11
Pro Elf 10 10 11 11 11
Bretonnian 12
Khorne 12
Chaos Pact 12 12 13 13* 12
Chaos 12 12 13 13 13
Khemri 12 12 13 13 13*
Nurgle 12* 12 13 13 13
Slann 12 12 13 13 13
Underworld 12 12 13 13 13
Vampire 12 12 13 13 13
Goblin 14 14 15 16 15
Halfling 14 14 15 16 15
Ogre 14 14 15 16 15
I feel only two things: nothing and nothingness.

I wouldn't say screw up but there wasn't consistency between the 2 - ruleset stated round pairing based on score then bonus / overall stated ranking based on score then opponent score then bonus.

Jonno wrote:So aside from game timing - which we will certainly look at next year - and to make sure the round seeding and overall tie breakers match, what else?
Can I please get some specific feedback on:
Tiers
Cards
Prizes
My thoughts;
- enjoyed it as always. Good ruleset and I don't have an issue with the tiers even if the argument could be made that some are 'wrong'
- as far as timing goes, the number of times people asked 'when's lunch?' or 'when's the finish time' I think I would put a big poster on the wall behind you with all the times for the day to avoid confusion. Maybe a whiteboard if available to adjust times at the end of the day if needed.
- Cards are good. I liked the 'one less than needed' nature of the selection. My only comment is that I would probably move to an edited BB2016 pack of cards.
- Prizes. I find that there is rarely anything on prize tables i want (with the exception of full teams) so I like the voucher approach. The division of the vouchers doesn't worry me.
- SoS needs to be the end of day tiebreaker. How draws are done during the day worries me less, as long as its consistent with the pack.

Overall i tend to agree with what Dazed's said above.

The only thing that may been an annoyance on the day (in the end it was all fine though) was not realising there was no dedicated lunch time, or the clock didn't match up with the stated times you were following. Birdy and my game we called early so we could have lunch, even though time was still on the clock.

The scoring and everything was fine, though i would question how Score actually did it, as some of the match ups raised eyebrows early. But, its the overall end of day tiebreakers that were important, and weren't an issue.

I like the Voucher approach, as most other things wouldn't really interest me nowadays. Vouchers allow alot more flexibility, and i assume, helps Gup as well.

I'm still fine with the cards, while they stay the CRP ones. Like the slight variety they offer. I would recommend sleaving them up though, so you can't tell what deck the cards are from.

I'll leave Tier discussions to others.

Just a query.....

Should Jonno vs James be a NAF game? As it was a default win to James because of the illegal roster, so he didn't technically win.

Either way, nice work getting the results up!

The game was played and then forfeited after the fact?

If that's the case then my game against Rabid at Cancon shouldn't count either, I don't think having 12 players on the pitch should be considered NAF.
